12o Ευρωπαϊκο Συνέδριο Guided Imagery & Music (GIM) "European Perspectives on GIM: Visions, Challenges and Crossroads"

Με μεγάλη χαρά θα φιλοξενήσουμε στη χώρα μας το 12 Ευρωπαϊκό Συνέδριο GIM, το οποίο θα λάβει χώρα στο Eden Beach Resort Hotel στην Ανάβυσσο, από τις 13 έως τις 18 Σεπτέμβρη 2016. Η εβδομάδα εργασιών θα ξεκινήσει με το προ-συνέδριο (13-14 Σεπτέμβρη) με τίτλο "Expanding GIM: Combining Practices", το οποίο αφορά αποκλειστικά θεραπευτές GIM. To κυρίως συνέδριο "European Perspectives on Guided Imagery and Music: Visions, Challenges and Crossroads" θα διαρκέσει τέσσερις μέρες (15-18 Σεπτέμβρη) και είναι ανοιχτό στο κοινό. Με μεγάλη μας χαρά υποστηρίζουμε την προσπάθεια αυτή, που γίνεται για πρώτη φορά στη χώρα μας.

 Το κεντρικό θέμα του συνεδρίου αφορά τη θέση του GIM στην Ευρώπη, και την Ευρωπαϊκή ματιά και τα νέα πεδία εφορμογών που έχουν διανοιχτεί τα τελευταία χρόνια, τόσο σε επίπεδο κλινικής δουλειάς, όσο και σε επίπεδο οργάνωσης και εκπαίδευσης. Σημαντικές θεματικές του παρόντως συνεδρίου είναι:

• μία προσέγγιση των βασικών στοιχείων του GIM (μουσική, οραματισμός, ο ρόλος του θεραπευτή) υπό νέες οπτικές γωνίες
• μία παρουσίαση των νεώτερων εξελίξεων και μεθόδων μουσικής και οραματισμού, όπως έχουν αναπτυχθεί και αναπτύσσονται στην Ευρώπη τα τελευταία χρόνια
• η Ευρωπαικές προοπτικές και το Ευρωπαϊκό βλέμμα στο GIM και στο Μ&Ι (Μusic and Imagery).

Στο προ-συνέδριο, το οποίο αφορά αποκλειστικά θεραπευτές GIM, θα περιλαμβάνει βιωματικά εργαστήρια γύρω από το συνδυασμό του GIM με άλλες πρακτικές, προσεγγίσεις ή ψυχοθεραπευτικές τεχνικές. Αυτό περιλαμβάνει: τροποποιημένο GIM για ειδικούς πληθυσμούς, συνδυαστικές πρακτικές με άλλες ψυχοθεραπευτικές τεχνικές όπως η Kλινική Ύπνωση, η Αφηγηματική Θεραπεία και η Θεραπεία Σχημάτων, και εμπλουτισμός της μεθόδου GIM με άλλα μέσα και προσεγγίσεις όπως η κίνηση, το σώμα, το παραμύθι ή το ψυχόδραμα.

Η βασική γλώσσα του συνεδρίου είναι τα αγγλικά.

Pre-conference: “Expanding GIM: Combining practices”

It is a great pleasure and privilege to welcome all the delegates from many countries to the 12^th European GIM Conference to be held in Eden beach Hotel in Anavyssos, at the outskirts of Athens, Greece. As representatives of this major event, we are devoted to the exchange of the latest knowledge and information about the practice and theory of GIM and its developments.

 The main focus of this conference is on GIM’s European Perspectives. GIM in Europe stands at a crossroad. Can and will we establish a European Association of Music and Imagery? What is the vision, what are the challenges and how do we find the right way?

 For a decade, we have been working towards the establishment of a European association, and in Berlin September 2014 the interim EAMI was founded. The board have since then been working on all the issues that need to be clarified before the final establishment: Organizational, practical and economical framework, formulation of European standards of training, clarification of the professional issues of defining GIM/Music and Imagery as related to clinical practice and legislation in the European countries, the relationship with AMI and other regional associations.

 A special goal of this conference is to address these questions in the broadest sense. Keynotes, papers, workshops and discussion panels will address professional, social and cultural challenges and introduce innovative ways in which we can find ways to proceed.

 Important themes will therefore be:  A new look on the core elements of GIM (music, imagery, guiding); the continuum of music and imagery methods as related to European practice, European perspectives on GIM and M&I.

 The pre-conference will be a special selection of workshops that combine GIM with other practices, approaches or psychotherapeutic techniques. These can include modifications of GIM for special populations,  combined with other psychotherapeutic techniques like clinical hypnosis, narrative therapy, biofeedback etc, or with other media other than the typical mandala, like body, movement, fairytales, drama therapy and psychodrama, to name a few. The last section of the pre-conference will be a special 3-hour group workshop devoted to “live” GIM experiences! Emphasis will be given on space for discussion and feedback from these experiences.
